As the year draws to a close, we are nearing the end of "7 Questions" with your CSBC staff. This week we feature Marc Tempesta, the Chief Financial Officer for CSBC. Marc, one of our executive team members, joined the ranks in 2017. He oversees the finances of the convention, manages human resources and risk management operations, and is also Leader of the Business Services Team. Marc and his wife share three terrific little ones, with the newest of the family, a sweet little girl, having arrived just this past summer. Marc’s schedule is never dull, and he is sure to bring a bit of comic relief to any situation that might be a little too tense or quiet.
1. What podcast are you currently listening to?
I actually listen to a variety of different podcasts, but since I just need to share one, then I will say "The Daily Wire."
2. What biblical character (other than Jesus) would you want to meet, and why?
So, all along the way, I've been tracking the answers everyone else has shared, and I pick Abraham, the father of many nations as the one I would like to meet. I’d love to find out what the conversation was like with Isaac on the way home down the mountain, after the whole "trying-to-kill-him" thing.
3. Toilet paper, under or over?
100% over! No ifs, ands, or buts about it!
4. What is one piece of advice you would want to give your younger self if you could?
I, myself, am a very goal-oriented person. I'm constantly thinking of the next goal to accomplish. The olderI get, I think about how I need to enjoy the process more. Going through life, I feel like I’ve frequently looked at the next thing: college, family milestones, grad school... I wish I would have enjoyed the days in between more. Being present in the moment is something I wish I could have told my younger self.
5. What is the most important role you fulfill in your life right now? Why?
Husband, because marriage is the cornerstone of the family, and it is the most important relationship next to the one I have with God.
6. If you could choose one place in the world to visit where would it be and why?
New Zealand. I have never visited but through research, I have learned that it is topographically such a unique and different place. It has so many vastly different climates all within about a 103 square mile range. I want to plan a red stag hunting trip there someday.
7. When you think through all the names of Christ, what name resonates with you right now, and why?
Redeemer. We all desperately need redemption. And when I say "we all," I myself, first and foremost.
