What book are you currently reading?

This is my 'to-be-read' shelf (as he snickers and gestures toward the shelf to the side of his desk). Ha-ha. Because of my role here at CSBC, there are two books that I am often referring to and rereading sections of. The first is "Christ-Centered Coaching" by Jane Creswell, and the second, "Turning Everyday Conversations into Gospel Conversations" by Jimmy Scroggins.

What biblical character (other than Jesus) would you want to meet, and why?

Probably David, with the psalms. I’d like to hear some of the melodies the psalms were set to and explore the harp instruments and the other types of musical instruments used to make those melodies at the time. I also envision the psalms changing over the generations as each generation creates its own melodies to go with the psalms.

Toilet paper, under or over?

Well as long as it is close by, it's all good for me.

Who has been the most influential person in your Christian life, and why?

That’s a hard question because different people have been extremely influential during different parts of my life. My mom and dad were influential in providing me a foundation in my faith and stability in the effort of prayer. Jim Fredrickson, my church youth director during my teen years was influential for me in continued learning and really understanding the importance of spending daily time with God. In my college days, Randy Galloway was influential in the art of deeper Bible studies.

What is one piece of advice you would want to give your younger self if you could?

Uhm… stay with the piano. Keep up those lessons! Practice, practice, practice! Piano gives a good foundation in all musical areas.

If you could choose one place in the world to visit where would it be and why?

I haven’t been to many places so there are a lot of places I could go. I would enjoy a Holy Land trip to Israel or maybe somewhere in Europe and see their cathedrals. Those two places are definitely on my bucket list.

When you think through all the names of Christ, what name resonates with you right now, and why?

Jehovah-Rapha – The God who heals. With my recent back injury, it has reminded me we need God’s healing every day.
