Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38
During the past few years, we have seen so many things that the world has not seen before… or have we? The church has always survived whatever came to it. Let us remember that the church is the people who have believed in Jesus.
This is a call out to the believers to keep it going. Our witness shall not be silent – believers are to shout the good news of Jesus to all. We need believers to stand up and stand out for Christ today. Start by praying for laborers to come forth and take their place in God’s History book. Let your heart, your life, follow the Holy Spirit to be among those who say, “Who else has the words of life?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 6:68
Hundreds and thousands of people had just turned away from Jesus and walked away. We have seen people walk away in our time as well, but those who keep Peter’s word are the ones who lead the church into the future to have what millions have had throughout the history of the church. Believers are to be among those of the higher calling of our day to tell others who Jesus is, not just tell them about Him. Jesus is who dwells in us through His Spirit to give us life. A life that excites and charges us with power that is of God. Remember the power of God created everything we know today.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:18-20
We remember these verses as the great commission. These verses hold true more today than ever before. Not only do we need to tell and see people believe, but we also need to disciple them. Why disciple them? For if we do not, they will fall by the wayside and be crushed under the feet of the world. It is those who walked with me as I grew as a believer (who I remember Jesus bringing into my life) that helped me remain in Jesus through the years. It is by God’s glory that I have walked in His power all this time.
This new year presents us with the biggest challenge that comes in the name of 2024. Pick up your Bible and learn it with all your heart! We have a world needing Jesus. The world belongs to God. He created it to have us be a part of His life. May we live like we are His children, unashamed of who He is and who we are in Him. May we reach the person, the families, and the ones Christ has placed before us. Each one of them needs Jesus, and they need you to share Jesus with them.
Bless you this year- keep on keeping on in the name of Jesus. Happy New Year 2024, let it be for Christ.
