Praying Together

Published Nov 08, 2022

I am an International Mission Board missionary who calls California home. My wife is a San Diego native, and we have started calling Riverside our home base. Our sending church is Orangecrest Community Church. We serve the Chinese Diaspora of North America through the Asia Pacific Peoples Affinity Group (APAC).

One of the highlights in my life over the last year has been meeting once a month to pray with Francis Chung, CSBC Missions Initiatives team leader. Each month we pray for an hour to an hour and a half for personal revival, revival in the Chinese church, and personal issues as they arise. I have found these times of praying together refreshing and energizing. As Francis and I have prayed, I have seen a renewed love for Jesus and the people in my Chinese church.

As a missionary, prayer has made a huge difference in some dark and hard places. After prayer walking in an area with only eight evangelical churches for more than 600,000 people, we soon had new ministry opportunities in the area popping up. APAC invites you to join us in praying for the people we love and serve.

  • China Prayers – Go to Facebook or Instagram, search for Chinaprayers and click “like.” Here you will see real-time prayer requests for real people in China.
  • Follow Sally Park on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Sally posts a wide range of prayer requests across our affinity.
  • Prayer Zoom Rooms – On the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM Eastern time and 7:00 PM Pacific time, there are two prayer times focused on two teams/countries/ peoples. Please register for these events at imb.org.
  • “IMB Pray” is an app where you can find requests from all over the world. I encourage you to download the app and head over to the prayer tab.

I invite you to become part of the California Southern Baptist Convention team that is praying for missions … Come join us!
