As the staff prepares for the CSBC annual meeting in October, this year at Clovis Hills Community Church, I want to give you an insight into what to expect.
There is always some business to deal with to satisfy the legal obligations we have as an organization. Beyond that legal obligation, the meeting is ours to design and carry out.
Last year the Convention restructured into four teams to assist churches: the Church Planting Initiatives Team, Evangelism and Missions Initiatives Team, Church Revitalization Initiatives Team and Small Church Initiatives Team. Virtually every church in California can be served by one or more of these teams regardless of context, culture, size, style or ethnicity.
It is projected that by the end of 2018 between 800 and 1,000 churches will have been engaged by one or more of our teams to assist them in fulfilling their God-given vision.
This year at the annual meeting the story of what has been happening in our churches will be told by congregation members through various means, to share a glimpse of the “big picture.” Rather than hear it through the prism of staff, you will hear the unfiltered perspective of the people in our CSBC churches. You will hear it and experience it as it really happened, with no “spin.”
This should provide a refreshing and exciting view of the ongoing work of the Convention and the value it can bring to your church and ministry as you serve in the Golden State.
If the teams have not worked with you yet we would love the opportunity to do so. We are certainly stronger together than we are alone.
Call on us and we will be happy to respond!
