CSBC Compassion Ministries
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me… -Matthew 25:35
With a global pandemic and record-breaking wildfires throughout our state, 2020 has been a year unlike any other. While much of the hardship is covered on the news, significant portions of people in our state have been overlooked and unseen. The CSBC Compassion ministries partner with local groups to help meet the needs of the people impacted the most.
Whether it is food for a hungry person, help to recover from a disaster, or care for the migrant worker, these ministries continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus as they meet needs and share the gospel. During the first three quarters of 2020, these Compassion Ministries have seen:
- 17,536 evangelistic encounters
- 446 professions of faith
- 127 baptisms
- 3,609 volunteers
- 48,042 Meals served (hot/bag lunches)
- 206,145 groceries distributed (approximate # of people fed)
This year for Giving Tuesday, we are inviting California Southern Baptists to join us in raising $25,000 for these ministries.
Why Giving Tuesday?
After feasting with our families and enjoying the deals of shopping online, this Giving Tuesday tradition is a fantastic way to begin our Christmas season together and make sure people can see and experience the hope of the gospel. This year for Giving Tuesday, we are inviting California Southern Baptists to join us in raising $25,000 for these ministries.
