Gateway Seminary Dedicates Henry and Marilynn Blackaby Prayer Room

ONTARIO, Calif. – Dr. Henry and Marilynn Blackaby were honored guests at the dedication events for Gateway Seminary in Ontario, Calif., Oct. 6, during which the Henry and Marilynn Blackaby Prayer Room was named in their honor.

For Dr. Blackaby, traveling to California for the event meant returning to the state where his ministry began. He graduated from Gateway Seminary—then Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary—more than 50 years ago as a member of the first graduating class at the Mill Valley campus.

During an intimate dedication ceremony for the prayer room, Blackaby donated his personal, annotated copy of the Blackaby Study Bible to Gateway Seminary. The Bible will be put on permanent display in the prayer room to encourage current students and faculty to continually devote themselves to God in prayer and study.

“You’re about as significant a graduate as we’ve ever had, and you’re a person who’s made such a profound impact all around the world,” Dr. Jeff Iorg, Gateway Seminary president, told Blackaby. “It is a tremendous honor for us to be able to attach your name to this holy place of prayer.”
