Intro to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief – Southern California

Morning Session
“Introduction to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief”
This orientation class is required for any new California Southern Baptist Disaster Relief volunteer and is recommended for badge renewal. Upon completion and cleared background check participants qualify for a three-year badge.
Afternoon Session
Participants may choose from one of three new three-hour classes listed below:
- Community Disaster Chaplain Ministry
This class is designed to help chaplains become aware of ministry in a community where disaster has taken place. Learn about potential ministry opportunities by partnering with local CSBC churches, developing community relationships, and engaging with other organizations active in disaster. - Rapid Response Kitchen Feeding
This class is for first time as well as currently trained feeding volunteers. Learn the setup, operations and take down of our new Rapid Response Kitchen Trailers as well as new and creative ways DR works with Church and Community fixed kitchens when feeding those effected by disaster.
Personal Property Recovery
This class teaches the basics of Personal Property Recover designed to assist homeowners after a disaster has destroyed their home. Learn proper techniques, safety procedures and common practices of this valuable ministry.
Disaster Relief Course Cost:
- New Volunteer Training (Hat, shirt, Dr pin, ID Badge & background check): $45
- Requalification (Renewed ID badge, newbackgroundcheck): $30
- Current Volunteer (Taking additional training): $10
