FRESNO—California Southern Baptists led the Southern Baptist Convention in the number of new church plants in 2019 while also recording increased baptisms for the second consecutive year, according to figures released by SBC entities.

Forward, a 3-year-old church plant averaging 50-70 in worship before the COVID-19 shutdown, has seen at least 20 people accept Christ and become involved with the church through its online ministry during the pandemic.

Today, more than 10 years later, Windsor Hills — now called The Hill Church — is back from the brink of collapse.
